A Sea Day at the Dock

We are on the magical mystery cruise version 2.  What else can go wrong with this ill fated world cruise?  We arrived in Cape Town on Wednesday. We did our errands, came back to the ship and fully expected the ship to leave at 5 PM.  It is now Thursday night, and we are still at the dock in Cape Town with no time or day if and when we are going to leave due to heavy winds.  To make matters worse, we are not allowed off the ship.  So we sit here, looking out at an interesting city to explore, as one day is not enough, not knowing what the hell is going on. There’s only been one announcement today, saying that immigration had no interest in allowing us off the ship, and therefore, they are treating the day like a sea day.

As far as we know, tomorrow will also be treated as another sea day whether we are still in port or not. We have lost our next port. Will we lose another?  If things continue the way they are, we will be having 10 to 12 sea days in a row.

People are getting really frustrated. If the captain made announcements regularly to let us know what is happening, then we can have some understanding of the situation. I don’t believe they are being truthful with us.  I think they are keeping us on board because if there is a window of opportunity to leave, they want to take that. And if we had shore leave, then there would be no possibility of instantaneously leaving.  These are my thoughts and opinion.

UPDATE.  UPDATE.  UPDATE

The ship left Cape Town at around midnight. We are at sea today.
