At sea in the North Atlantic Ocean

Today was day six out of seven sea days. So what have we done these past six days? For one thing, the water has been incredibly flat as we travel up the west coast of Africa and we are very thankful for that. The weather is starting to get cooler the farther north we go. Two days until we dock in Senegal.

We had a find the buoy game (that represents Null Island).  I think the captain was playing a joke on us because this buoy has been removed as of last year. But the year before that I got a picture of it. It’s official:  When you arrive at 0° Latitude by 0° longitude, you are welcomed into the order of emerald shellbacks.

Here are some of the things we have done: we had a reef and beef dinner served to us on the pool deck, some of my knitting group and I participated in a contest to represent something we have done on the cruise, played a lot of bridge, and even had some time to go in the pool.

So it’s get up in the morning, eat breakfast, I go to knitting (although my knitting group has been decimated), Michael goes to Bridge, have lunch, bridge in the afternoon, go back to the room for an hour or so to rest up, cocktail hour, eat dinner, and if the show is good, we go to the show.
